  Went to use the vacuum/air hose at this location today and the equipment was defective. After putting my toonie in, the money didn't drop down but got stuck. There is no button for a coin return and i was unable to retrieve the money inside. I went inside to inform the person working (who happened to be the owner) that the machine was defective and ate my money. I was told it wasn't his problem and I shouldn't of used the machine. I confirmed that he was responsible for it.. and asked why I shouldn't of used it. He then informed me it wasn't working and again, it wasnt his issue. I asked how it wasnt his issue if when the machine is fixed, the money I am unable to retrieve would then be his and he had no response to my question but repeated that I shouldn't of used the defective machine. I asked how I was supposed to know it didn't work and he said there was a sign. I informed him there was no sign and no way of me knowing.. pointing to the signless equipment. He said he can't be responsible if the sign was removed and that someone must of taken it as he's had to put several up. I advised him that maintaining equipment and ensuring customers know if they're putting money into a broken machine was in fact his responsibility and he can't just expect to keep the money because I was unaware of an issue he made no effort to have public knowledge. He then asked how much I had put into the machine, and after telling him $2, he offered me $1 and said that I could take it or leave it. I took the loonie and told him I would be calling Shell because this wasn't acceptable customer service or even a resolution and that I would never be back. Considering I am there daily, "great" was not the answer you d expect from someone who has purchased and is representing such a large franchise.

  Signs on the doors for promotions are 2 months old, any current promotions you have to double check are actually rung up as advertised (ex. 2 for 4 vitamin water.. almost paid per piece for them) and now this.

  The ultramar 2km down the road is cheaper, friendlier and they don't seem to try to take advantage of people. Yeah it's a gas station, you d think they're all the same. But if there's any chance your buying anything but gas or an issue goes wrong with the pump.. Your day may ruined.
